If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Do not hire Ka'Nita Glover (owner of The Bar Bank) or work for her. Despite her claims of being a professional with extensive experience, it's all a lie. She gives off serious red flags.

I met her one time at her apartment before working a wedding with her that took place on September 14, 2024, in Rancho Santa Fe, California.

Here are the following serious issues regarding her and her business practices:

Lack of Transparency:
Ka'Nita Glover refused to provide me with a contract for the services rendered during the wedding, both at the time of the event and upon request via email. She assured me that I had nothing to worry about and promised to show me a contract in person as an "orientation" before the event.

Health Code Violations:
During the event, I observed numerous health violations, including:
Unsanitary Conditions: There was no pre- or post-sanitization of bar tools or surfaces.

Moldy Ingredients: She arrived with moldy limes and used rusted, dirty bar tools. Knives used to cut garnishes were not clean and she didn't come prepared with any cleaning products or rags to wipe down surfaces.

Leaking Ice: Ice was improperly stored, leaking all over the floor, creating a slip hazard that could have resulted in serious injury.

Disorganized Equipment:
All bar equipment was disorganized and stored in her Tesla, which was in a chaotic state. I have video evidence of this.

Employee Compensation Issues:
Ka'Nita advertised a pay rate of $40/hour for employees in her contracts to clients, but she only offered me $20-$25/hour based on "performance," which I believe is misleading and constitutes a breach of trust.

Failure to Compensate:
I still have not been compensated for the hours I worked during the event, which lasted from 12 PM to 9:30 PM. I have all of our texts as evidence of her deceitful practices. I also have photo and video proof of her unsanitary bar tools and the condition of her car. (Google will not let me upload the video so I have attached screenshots).

Deceptive Payment Practices:
Ka'Nita has a history of paying people that have worked for her via Apple Pay immediately after events. However, when I requested payment, she claimed she does not use Apple Pay and only pays by check. She has never requested my address for a check, which leads me to believe this is a tactic to delay payment to employees for their work. She promised to pay for gas and made it seem like we would be W-2 employees, but she's never had contracted employees before. Additionally, after the event I worked with Ka'Nita, she mentioned that she typically doesn’t give cash tips to employees at the end of events. However, she decided to give me cash this time because I did "such a good job." She claimed that she normally includes all cash tips in the checks, but when I expressed my concern about wanting to avoid taxes on my cash tips, she said she doesn’t take taxes out of checks. This raised a red flag for me—if that’s the case, why even pay with checks at all?

Deceptive Practices:
Ka'Nita misrepresents her business as established and professional while engaging in unethical practices that can harm clients and employees alike.

She has sent numerous inappropriate text messages and still has not compensated me for my work, leading me to file a complaint with the BBB. Please, please, please do not do business with this woman. Protect yourself and steer clear!

Ugh where do I begin with the bar bank? Let’s just say they need a LOAN from the service industry bankers . Smh, this set up was horrendous. Dirty tools, unsanitary cutlury , drinkware and glassware. They would not pass inspection. The “banker” was incredibly rude and unprofessional, hellloo if you’re gonna be in business in San Diego you need to friendly, nice and respectful. There is so much competition. Please, do not waste any second of your time here. 0/10, so many notes, do better “bar bank” more like trash tank. Smh.

Looks like this company has really gone downhill. There is nothing 5 starts about it. Poorly ran, unprofessional treatment of employees, lying to their clients then blaming others. If you’re looking for an ethical, professionally ran service provider do NOT contract with bar bank. Employees and clients deserve better than someone trying to take advantage of others.

This was my first time utilizing a professional bar tending service at an event and let me tell you...I have been missing out! Kanita and Jessica were so awesome that they are now officially part of the family and of ALL of our future events! Not only were they very professional but they went above and beyond!! Thank you ladies for everything and for being a part of one of the most important days of my life! I hired them for my daughter's bridal shower and they were so wonderful!! Ka’nita is one of the most creative people and there is never a dull moment when she gets into her creative spin. From fun Siestas, adult versions of California coolers and just the amazing things she can do for an event to add that extra space and luxury. I highly recommend the bar bank for any wedding, special event, gathering, you name it - you will not be disappointed

Kanita is by far the sweetest and coolest
person ever! I attended a Cinco de Mayo party in Los Angeles where she was bartending and I was blown away by the drink and the service !! She had passion fruit jalapeño margaritas, specialty micheladas, and a few others. All of them were unique and very delicious!! She kept her bar area very clean, neat, and sanitized at all times! I highly recommend booking her for all parties, weddings, or girls trips. You will have a good vibes all the way around if you choose THE BAR BANK ?

Amazing! She made the whole experience extremely easy, and I didn’t have to worry about anything not even the ice! She was super friendly to my guests and managed our party of 70 very easily. Definitely would recommend her to everyone!
